What is Mebac®?
Mebac® is a unique, patented process for bonding aluminum oxide grit to a metal substrate using molten metal. This technique produces a permanent, slip-resistant surface that is ideal for applications requiring safety underfoot. The Mebac® process ensures a high-traction finish that outlasts many other anti-slip treatments on the market today.
On our Mebac® Aluminum Nosings, the non-slip surface is formed from aluminum oxide particles that are encapsulated by molten aluminum. This mixture bonds directly to the aluminum substrate, creating a durable and long-lasting nosing that’s both functional and corrosion-resistant. These nosings are ideal for indoor and outdoor stair applications, particularly in environments prone to moisture, oils, or heavy foot traffic.
In addition to Mebac® Aluminum Nosings, Mebac® surfaces are manufactured in aluminum on steel and steel on steel, giving engineers and designers flexibility to choose the right base material for their specific application. Whether you need anti-slip solutions for commercial stairs, industrial platforms, or ladder safety, Mebac nosing products deliver reliable traction where it matters most.
Mebac® has become the industry standard for high-performance nosings and slip-resistant metal surfaces. With outstanding durability, weather resistance, and superior grip, Mebac® Aluminum Nosings provide peace of mind for safety-conscious facilities and operations.

Easy Anchor
Our Mebac® Aluminum Nosings feature a 2″ wide integral aluminum anchor, spaced 2″ from ends and 14 to 18″ on centers. This provides a firm and stable installation across various stair substrates including concrete, steel, and wood.
The Easy Anchor design ensures a flush, uniform fit that minimizes tripping hazards while maximizing the effectiveness of the non-slip surface. This anchor system is ideal for both new stair installations and retrofitting existing steps with updated Mebac® safety surfaces.
Mebac® Ladder Rungs
For that extra measure of ladder climbing safety — especially in environments where ladders may be exposed to water, lubricants, or chemicals — Mebac® ladder rungs provide the ideal solution.
For new ladder installations, we offer Mebac® surfaced solid rungs in ¾″ or 1″ squares. These rungs are slip-resistant and built to withstand heavy wear.
For existing ladders, we can supply ¾″ or 1″ Mebac®-surfaced formed channel rungs. These channels fit securely over existing ladder rungs and are permanently welded in place.
Whether you’re upgrading existing ladders or designing new ones, Mebac® ladder rungs deliver proven safety, ease of installation, and long-lasting performance. For either style, simply specify your desired finished length, or order our 10’0″ stock length for in-field customization.

Mebac® Spec
We offer Mebac® Aluminum Nosings in a variety of widths and profiles to suit your project needs. Whether you’re replacing existing stair nosings or working on a new build, Mebac nosing delivers unmatched safety performance. The anti-slip properties remain consistent even in wet, oily, or icy conditions — ideal for facilities such as food processing plants, transit stations, manufacturing facilities, and public infrastructure.
All nosings meet or exceed ADA and OSHA requirements for slip resistance, offering exceptional surface friction without compromising appearance or structural strength. You can request nosings in custom finishes, with different widths and angles to accommodate your specific installation.
Mebac® Clip
Mebac® clips are available for secure installation and fast mounting. These clips make it easier to anchor Mebac® Aluminum Nosings to a wide range of stair types and materials. Installation is fast, clean, and requires minimal tools.
The clip system is compatible with our full line of Mebac nosing products and can be ordered in custom quantities to match your project scope.
